Photographing the Trees of Congress Park

Photographing the Trees of Congress Park In-Person

Congress Park is home to a visually diverse collection of tree species. Join nature photographer and meditation teacher, Susan Meyer, for a nature photography walk through Congress Park focused on trees. This is not a tree identification walk; it is an invitation to become fascinated and connected, visually, artistically and emotionally, with the trees throughout the park and to photograph them in a variety of ways.

Susan will offer tips and guide you to take a closer look and photograph what you find interesting about particular trees, as individual entities or interrelated elements of a landscape. You will be coached to consider lighting, perspective, composition, and camera settings, and encouraged to zoom in and out with your camera lens and/or your feet, to take in both the totality and the details of a tree.

We will meet in person at the Congress Park Carousel, 32 Spring Street, Saratoga Springs, NY, and begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. In the event of rain, this program will be rescheduled to Saturday, April 23, at 8:30 am. Spots in this program are limited and advance registration is required.
