West African Drum Circle: Community Fun!

West African Drum Circle: Community Fun! In-Person

Learn to play a djembe drum (and a few traditional world rhythms) while participating in a West African drum circle class led by musicians-in-residency, Chelsie Henderson and Wayne White of Rural Soul Music Studio. A mask or face covering is required for non-vaccinated participants. Registration is required for the 3 practice sessions and an open presentation to be held on Monday, August 2 at 4:30 p.m. This series will be held on the porch of the Nolan House at the Presbytarian New England Congregational Church on Circular Street in good weather, and will proceed rain or shine but will be rescheduled in the event of extreme weather. Drums are available to borrow from the library on a first come, first served basis. If you cannot get to the library to borrow a drum, a drum will be provided for you. No restrooms or water available on site. Parking available on Circular Street, Park Place. Please register online.

Saratoga Arts made this program possible with a Community Arts Grant funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
