Black History in its Own Words by Ron Wimberly Graphic Novel Discussion - A SaratogaREADS! Inspired Event In-Person

Ron Wimberly's graphic novel, Black History in its Own Words, is a portrait collection combining vibrant, dynamic illustrations of acclaimed black celebrities and personalities with notable quotations, that tells grand stories with an economy of language. In many ways, we tell our own family histories through quotes and images, and for this event, let's explore and discuss these extraordinary individuals from black history, and discuss our own pasts by bringing photos of the people, places, and things from our pasts to the discussion for a celebration of who we are, and where we've come from!
