"Thursdays @ Noon": Black and White: Race Relations in early Saratoga County In-Person

Local Historian Jim Richmond will expand on his 2019 presentation on Blacks in early Saratoga County. From slavery, to servanthood, to freedom, many Blacks experienced prejudice, discrimination, segregation, and fear in their interactions with their white neighbors. But that was only part of the story. The vast majority of blacks and whites worked side by side, shared common struggles and achievements, and lived their lives without conflict. This presentation will attempt to explore both aspects of this world where race relations In Saratoga County were not black and white. No registration required.
