Come practice your Mah Jongg skills by playing here at the library! All experience levels are welcome to join in on the fun. Our instructor, Rhona, will also be there for reminders and any questions. We will be focusing on American Mah Jongg, and Mah Jongg sets will be provided.

Please register online.

What to Expect:

  • We will be playing American Mah Jongg.
  • Our instructor will offer reminders and brief instruction before play begins.
  • A Mah Jongg game is usually made up of four players. There may be the need to adjust the game to just three players depending on the number of participants.
  • The librarian will give each table a case containing all materials needed for a game of Mah Jongg.
  • Mah Jongg cards will also be provided, but you can bring your own card as long as it matches the current Mah Jongg year.

Sensory Information:

  • We will be playing with smooth white tiles that have different symbols and pictures on them.
  • Loud sounds may be made by tiles falling onto the table.
  • Lighting is standard indoor lighting.

Sensory Supports:

  • You are welcome to sit and watch a game of Mah Jongg if you don't want to play.
  • Fidget tools or quiet sensory items are welcome.
  • You are welcome to take breaks or step out if you need to.
  • Staff are happy to help with seating preferences when possible.

Registration is required.
There are no seats available but a waiting list is available.
