Wondering what Congress has been up to? GovTrack.us simplifies the lawmaking process and helps you understand what your lawmakers are doing. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore GovTrack.us and its main features: identifying your reps, seeing how they vote, and learning about bills. We’ll also walk through the sign-up process for a free account so you can set up email alerts on legislative activity you care about. Learn to use GovTrack.us and hold your lawmakers accountable! Whether you're completely new to politics or a seasoned expert, there's valuable information on GovTrack.us for everyone. 

This Senior Planet from AARP class is being offered through the Senior Planet licensing program.

What to Expect

  • Instruction is step-by-step and moves at a steady, supportive pace.
  • Questions are welcome at any time, and asking for help is encouraged.
  • Participation is flexible—you may follow along, observe, or take notes.
  • There is no testing, grading, or expectation to remember everything.
  • Repetition and review are part of the session.
