Our Paws4Reading partners are certified therapy dogs who are happy to sit quietly and listen appreciatively to any story you wish to read. Please call 518-584-7860, ext. 305 on the day of the program to reserve a 10-minute time slot.
What to Expect:
- Families may participate together.
- Each dog will be accompanied by a handler. The dog will be on a leash.
- You can sit on the floor on a carpet square
- Books will be available to read or you may select your own.
Sensory:
- Dogs may be petted.
- Dogs may lick or sniff you.
Supports:
- If you don't feel like reading, you may pet or talk to the dog, tell about the pictures in a book, or ask the handler about the dog
