What to Expect 

  • A librarian or volunteer will lead a craft project; takes average of 10 minutes to complete.

  • Visual example will be provided. 

  • Takes place in the Children's Room on the Lower Level; this is not an enclosed space. 

  • Crafts often require adult assistance; caregivers should remain close by. 

 

Sensory Information 

  • Children's Room can get quite busy, noise levels vary. 

  • Bright overhead lights. 

  • Both visual and auditory distractions.

  • Some smells from craft supplies may be noticeable. 

     

Supports 

  • Limited fidgets, weighted blankets, noise-cancelling headphones, and other sensory equipment are available on request. 

  • Participants can take home supplies and complete the craft in private. 

  • Restrooms are nearby, and families may take breaks as desired.
