What to Expect

  • A librarian or volunteer will lead a craft project - most projects take 10 minutes to complete

  • A visual example will be provided.

  • Program takes place in the Children's Room on the Lower Level - this is not an enclosed space

  • Crafts often require assistance by accompanying adults; adults should expect to remain in the same room as their children

Sensory Information

  • The Children's Room is often quite busy and noise levels vary

  • There are many distractions in the space - both visual and auditory

  • Bright overhead lights.

  • Some smells from supplies may be noticeable.

Supports

  • Limited fidgets, weighted blankets, noise-cancelling headphones, and other sensory equipment are available on request.

  • Children may wish to take home the craft supplies and complete them in private.

  • Restrooms are nearby, and families may take breaks as desired.
