This class for absolute beginners will go over sewing machine basics--from understanding markings and dials to threading, cleaning, and adjusting your machine. Some sewing machines will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own machine if they have one. Please note that the instructor is not able to diagnose or repair broken or damaged sewing machines during this class.

What to Expect
· The program is led by library staff or a guest instructor.
· You do not need prior crafting experience.
· This program will include demonstrations and practice time.
· There is no project to finish, and nothing will be graded.

· The program takes place in a shared indoor space.
· Sample fabric may have different textures.
· There may be scissor use, light tool sounds, or quiet conversation.
· Seating is library-style tables and chairs.
· Lighting is standard indoor lighting.

· You may take breaks or step away at any time.
· Fidget tools, comfort items, or adaptive tools are welcome.
· Written instructions or visual examples may be available.
· You are welcome to observe rather than participate.
