Kids ages 3-5 with a caregiver, join us for a story time full of movement and play! We will read the first part of a story together, then kids will act out the rest! Narrative play is essential to childhood development and early literacy. It builds vocabulary, communication, imagination, critical thinking, and social emotional skills. No registration required.

What to Expect:

  • Caregivers will sit with their children and encourage them to participate.
  • Sit on carpet squares on the floor or in chairs while the librarian reads.
  • Be ready to stand up, act things out, and move and dance around the room while kids use their imaginations to continue the story.
  • It is okay if children would prefer to sit and watch, and join in whenever they are ready.
  • Read and act out 2-3 stories, as time allows.
  • We will open the doors 5 minutes before the program starts, but if you are running late, feel free to come in quietly and join us any time.
  • Younger siblings are welcome, but the activities will be geared toward kids ages 3-5.
