20 Essential Tips for Protecting the Right to Read Online
Join SSPL in partnership with Crandall Library for this Banned Books Week tie-in program as we work with attorney, Stephanie "Cole" Adams to discuss how we cultivate a commitment to democracy, civil discourse, and the Right to Read. She will discuss the legal underpinnings of libraries in New York, the legal concepts behind the Right to Read, and concrete actions we can take to protect it as a community. Attendees will receive a worksheet of "Twenty Tips" that will break down the legal concepts into talking points and guidance for making decisions. Everyone, from readers to teachers, librarians and community members, is welcome!
