Homeschooling families with kids in grades K-6, come hang out and make open-ended art inspired by pictures of our solar system. This lesson plan is designed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Please register each child who will be participating.
What to Expect
- The librarian will present a slideshow with photographs of planets and celestial bodies and some scientific information about them
- Participants will watch a video about basic techniques for using pastels
- Kids will choose a photograph and use oil pastels on paper to create an original art piece based on the image. This is an open-ended project where kids are free to be completely creative.

- Noise cancelling headphones and fidgets are welcome. A limited number are available to use during the program, or bring your own.
