Join us for an introduction to West African Drumming & Movement workshop with M'Bemba Bangoura. This mini lesson includes a short performance. Adults with special needs are strongly encouraged to join us. If you need a drum, please let us know in the online registration form. A native of Guinea, West Africa, M’Bemba Bangoura began playing the djembe drum at the age of seven. By the age of twenty-one, he was acclaimed as a master drummer and was invited to play for Ballet Djoliba, the national company of Guinea. He has traveled the world as a performer and teacher of the djembe, and is revered for his high level of mastery. In addition, he has personally created choreography and developed repertoire for dozens of dance companies worldwide.
