Poetry Café: Old Adventures, New Translations - Selection from Ovid's "Metamorphoses," translated by Stephanie McCarter Online
Join this discussion of an ancient adventure story! We'll be reading Stephanie McCarter's fresh take on Pyramus and Thisbe from her 2022 translation. Shakespeare referenced this 'episode' of Metamorphoses twice - as the basis for Romeo and Juliet, and as a brief solemn segment in his comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. Please register online.
