The Soul of American Women: Equality in the 20th Century Online
Susan Philpott, Park Ranger at the Belmont-Paul Women's Equality National Monument, will offer a virtual tour of the site using photographs of the National Woman's Party collection and museum exhibits. We'll explore the story of Alice Paul and the National Woman's Party's transgressive tactics in the campaign for the passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment between 1913-1920. But winning the vote was not the end. The NWP continued to work for social, political, and economic equality, including the introduction 100 years ago of the Equal Rights Amendment.
